Joining Naim as HR Director in 2011, Jill Nieuwoudt’s focus lay on retaining the heritage of the advanced consumer electronics manufacturing business through an essential whole-organisation change process – aligning the new breed of Naim management with existing leadership whilst growing the business with a refreshed portfolio. In a position to invest more into the development of leadership across the business, Jill brought James in to work with the Senior Leadership Team.
The Solution
After the success of exploring Discovery during an initial workshop, the programme was run with the newly formed SLT to allow both new and present members to better understand one another, communicate more effectively and create more productive working relationships. 12 months later a 360 feedback session was run to extend the understanding of how others might see the SLT members and to stimulate more searching conversations and break down existing barriers.

The Results
Naim senior leaders extended the learning they’d received into their teams to support fluidity and productivity. There is a real understanding of the implications of diverse behavioural preferences both within the company and externally with clients. In addition, there has been a tangible increase in acceptance, forgiveness, positivity and productivity. Expectations are managed and leaders model the interconnected ways of working and behaviours that are expected organisation-wide.
